Methods: MRI findings in 12 patients with clinical diagnosis of TGA were retrospectively analysed. MRI brain was performed with a 3T scanner on 11 patients and 1.5T scanner on 1 patient. DWI were acquired at B We present the case of an elderly male who was diagnosed with transient global amnesia (TGA), only to be diagnosed with B-cell lymphoma with central nervous system involvement a few weeks later. This is the first ever case reported in literature with lymphoma presenting as TGA. Literature review and pertinent points regarding high-yield imaging protocol for presumed TGA patients are discussed.
Speculation about the pathophysiology exists but is as yet unsubstantiated. Diffusion-weighted MRI is a new imaging technique that is very sensitive in detecting acute ischemia. Its use in the evaluation of transient amnesia precipitated by cerebral MRI Findings in Transient Global Amnesia T ransient global amnesia (TGA) is a disorder characterized by a sudden attack of severe anterograde amnesia, where patients are unable to learn and recall novel information during the event. Although fi rst described at least 60 years ago,1 the etiology and pathophysiology of TGA remain unclear and have 2017-08-28 When transient global amnesia first occurs, MRI does not show specific abnormalities. However, after a few days, MRI may show tiny dots in an area of the brain that is important in forming and retrieving memories (the hippocampus). The spots may represent small areas where blood flow is decreased, suggesting a possible cause of the amnesia. Transient global amnesia (TGA) is a temporary loss of short-term memory without other signs of impaired cognition and with absent focal neurological signs.

Transient global amnesia (TGA) is characterized by anterograde memory disturbance of sudden onset that lasts for 1 to 24 hours. 1 Orientation in space and time is impaired while consciousness remains undisturbed. Objective: The risk of recurrence of new amnesia events in patients having previously experienced transient global amnesia (TGA) ranges between 2.9-23.8%. Our objective was to search for recurrence predictors in TGA patients.
